An Update from your Sponsor Child Letters + a Special Letter writing Opportunity

We hope the festivities of the season are going well with you and it is our prayer that the gift lavished on you, Emmanuel, God with Us, is bringing you peace and joy for all to see! In this special time of giving, we are thankful that most of you received a special gift from us… a letter from your sponsored child, along with a picture and an update from your child’s social worker. Unfortunately, some of you did not receive one. For reasons we don’t understand, the remaining letters sent from Uganda via DHL are being held up at customs. Having shipped many times via this carrier in the past, we did not foresee any problems. We hope the shipment will somehow be able to complete its delivery to us after it is realized that the items are simply precious letters from very important orphans! So if you have not received your letter and update, it’s probably stuck in customs and we hope to have it cleared and on its way to you soon. Thank you for your patience and understanding!

Choosing Hope: Double Your Impact

Dear Friends,
2021 has been a year like no other. Our mission, to raise up vulnerable children in a loving environment, is more important than ever before. During another year filled with uncertainty, God remains faithful. His hand of protection has been upon this ministry and His miraculous provisions in our work. God’s faithfulness through you – reaching out with love, prayers and financial support – has provided hope for children and families in need. The pandemic may be straining your economic security, but you refuse to turn away from those Jesus asks us to love. As such, Juna Amagara Ministries continues to offer hope and stability to the children we serve with our partner in Uganda, Hope Partners Africa.

Sponsor Child Christmas Gifts

As we head into November and a season of thanksgiving, I would like to take a moment to thank you, our faithful child sponsors. Thank you for your support during the tumultuous year of 2021! Because of your support, we have been able to continue investing in the lives of almost 1,000 Ugandan children. At a time when many have lost hope, these children continue to be cared for, continue to have access to school (some are in person and some are remote) and continue to be loved – by you! On behalf of the children, the teachers and the staff, THANK YOU!

While you’re probably not yet thinking much about Christmas, that’s right around the corner, too. And as a ministry, we start planning for Christmas now because there are a lot of moving parts that need to come together in order to make the celebration of our Savior’s birth a special time for your sponsored child.

Please take a minute right now to send a special Christmas gift to your sponsored child. As in past years, we cannot send physical gifts from the U.S. but we can provide gifts purchased in Uganda that will remind your child of your love for him or her in this season of joy.

Lee “Mzee: Mulder

Dear Friends,
It is with deep sorrow and joy that we share that founding JAM Board Member Lee “Mzee” Mulder has passed on to the presence of his Savior.

Lee sponsored many children, traveled to Uganda more than 20 times, served on the board for over 15 years, and even after he “retired” continued to write for our newsletters and support ministry projects. Lee worked tirelessly in the service of our Lord on behalf of the children of Juna Amagara.

To know Lee was to know his passion for Juna Amagara. He had an infectious enthusiasm for the ministry and a gift with words that he generously shared. He told stories of changed lives beautifully and loved to highlight the transformations he witnessed through his work with JAM.

Lee will be greatly missed, but we take comfort in knowing that he is in the arms of his savior. We ask that you lift up Clara and his children in prayer as they grieve.

We invite you to read the words he wrote upon his retirement from Juna Amagara’s board, which recount his service and reflect his love for God and the children of Uganda: Lee’s Comments

Dear Sponsors & Supporters

 May 2021

Dear Sponsors and Supporters,

Since our email to you in March, our 920 sponsored children have been returning to school by following the government calendar in Uganda for classes starting, and all students are scheduled to be in school by July 1st. Our high school seniors have finished their school year and will soon begin the ABIDE program, our residential discipleship and evangelism program. Our younger students recently received Discipleship group (Dgroup) devotional materials to study God’s Word in community. University and vocational students are continuing their studies, and 15 students are graduating! All this is possible with your ongoing support!

During this time of uncertainty, we all value stability and have people in our lives that have made an impact. For the children in our program, that person has been their social worker. Our social workers have been the bridge in caring for and keeping in constant contact with the students and evaluating the needs of the children and their families.

We are reaching out to you regarding some additional critical needs of the ministry:

  • Motorbikes for social workers at each of our 6 carepoints to equip them to provide more effective care for our students and their families.
  • Medical outreach to serve those in impoverished communities, many of whom have never seen a doctor.
  • As children return to school after a year, there are additional needs for reopening such as supplies and food support.
  • Critical food support for the elderly in our operation areas who continue to suffer during this time of pandemic.

You can continue to make a difference in the lives of the children

in our program, like Edson whose story is below, by making a donation online at www.amagara.org or by responding with the reply card enclosed with this letter. If you have appreciated stock and would like to donate it to the ministry, we have a tax-advantaged way for you to do so. Please email info@amagara.org for details.

We thank you in advance for partnering with us as we continue to reach even more

orphaned and vulnerable children in Uganda in the name of Jesus.

In His service,

Peggy Walding

Chairman of the Board, Juna Amagara USA

An Update From Uganda

Dear Sponsors and Supporters,
Greetings in the name of the risen Lord Jesus Christ. I welcome you to the New Year and praise God for He has kept us since my previous update, and it’s therefore with great pleasure that I convey my greetings and the staff to you. God has been faithful and He will be to the end of time. I previously gave an update about the fairing of our children and the staff in the ministry since we have been operating in an unusual way, especially with the education of our sponsored children and, of course, the entire country.

Here’s an update on our students.
