VISION: to form students in Christian faith, character and leadership

MISSION: to EQUIP students in studying and applying God’s Word, MENTOR them in life decisions and SEND them to serve Christ in the Church and their communities.

The ABIDE program which began in 2008 invites high school graduates each year to participate in a six month residential discipleship course at two campuses. These students join ABIDE to know God, develop leadership skills and engage in ministry. It includes personal mentorship, Bible classes, vocational skills, team building activities, and supervised ministry outreach. The purpose of ABIDE is to create a foundation of Christ-centered beliefs, values and skills in the youth of East Africa with the goal to empower students to transform the nations.

map“I was brought up in a Christian family, though to be honest I came close to taking my own life because I hated myself. I resorted to drugs, cigarettes, and alcohol to keep reality at arm’s length. ABIDE rekindled my salvation journey and my relationship with Christ: realizing all my sinfulness and misery, understanding what Christ did for me and finally obtaining a new life from God. The lessons I attended at ABIDE will forever have an impact on my life. The outreaches were very humbling as many lives were blessed and changed. I got to discover another beautiful side of me. And to everyone supporting the ABIDE program in whichever way you’re doing it, thank you for offering yourselves to be used by God.”

“I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit He prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. ABIDE in me as I also ABIDE in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must ABIDE in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you ABIDE in me.

JOHN 15:1-4

ABIDE is a garden that allows students to grow in a nurturing environment. Modeling Jesus’ method and values of ministry, all areas of discipleship are interconnected for a comprehensive learning: knowledge in classroom study, guidance in life skills, and leadership experience in student-led ministry. They learn to think, live and serve like Christ.
Over 100 graduates are united by the ABIDE Alumni Association (AAA) under the leadership of their elected Cabinet. They are now serving in ministries and churches, pursuing further studies, working in business, health and development sectors across East Africa and the world – making a powerful impact for Christ. ABIDE alumni carry a distinct mark that sets them apart in society which opens doors for leadership opportunities.
