Amagara Discipleship and Evangelism is the vehicle through which godly role modeling, mentoring and virtuous character development is provided to the Amagara children and youth based on God's Word. Through Discipleship, young people are prepared and trained for deployment as next generation leaders equipped to serve God and others with integrity. Through Evangelism, the transforming message of God's love in Jesus Christ is presented privately and publicly in homes, businesses, schools , churches, refugee camps and daily life. The truth that God is the giver of all life, that in Jesus Christ all who believe start a relationship with Him leading to eternal life. Involvement in Amagara Evangelism and Discipleship gives short term missions trip participants opportunities for faith building both to Ugandans as well as visiting missioners from abroad.
ABIDE - The Amagara Bible Institute for Discipleship and Evangelism
In 2006, American Matthew Kehn Mugisha founded ABIDE to minister to young men on "long vac" between secondary school and university/professional school. Starting with ten hand-selected students in rented facilities, he ran them through five months of Bible study, faith life study, communications training and outward-bound-like team building experiences. Those ten are now extraordinary examples of Godly men in the world. By 2013, ABIDE had graduated more than 50 students operating from two ministry-built facilities. A program for young women begins in September, 2013.
