In 2004, Juna Amagara established the first Amagara Children’s Home in the town of Mbarara. Now there are 28 children ranging in age from eight to eighteen who have found a loving, nurturing and safe environment in which to grow. And they have been transformed, from frightened, lost souls into energetic, productive disciples of Christ. It takes $25,000 to open and operate an Amagara House; the ministry is seeking funds to open two new facilities per year beginning in 2006. Every Amagara House provides: - Safe shelter in a loving environment
- Nutritious food and clean water
- Clothing and basic healthcare
- Individual beds and foot lockers
- Primary school & vocational education
Children SponsorshipsWith over 2 million orphans living in Uganda, JAM desires to empower extended families to care for their children. The Sponsor Program assists the guardians financial needs while keeping the children in loving and safe homes to provide for their education. This results in a larger ministry capacity and personal empowerment, while maintaining the family unit. We want you to come and meet our children who live in the rural villages with their guardians. Please consider sponsoring one of these precious children for only $30 per month. Student Scholarships Patrick, an Amagara student, and Sean Naus meet in Kabale to encourage each other.
| For older kids, Juna Amagara provides scholarships to help orphan children stay in secondary school. It costs only $250.00 per year for room, board, tuition, books and uniforms at State-run schools, but for many kids and care-givers, this is beyond their means and students often miss entire school terms because they work at menial jobs to earn money for school fees. Students crave education, yet funding is scarce. The Juna Amagara AIDS Orphan Scholarship Program has been a blessing to dozens of these orphan children. Unburdened by money problems, sponsored students are able to concentrate on classes where nearly all of them improve their class ranks. Literally hundreds of applications have been received from other motivated students in need. Scholarship applicants are carefully screened by Juna Amagara personnel and fees are paid directly to the schools.
