Mission Trips


Every year dozens of Westerners of all ages travel to Uganda to visit Juna Amagara. Some come because they are curious. Some because they want to paint or dig or build. Some want to teach skills or academics. Some want to preach. Some come 2010_MEDICAL_TEARfor the adventure. Whatever else they accomplish while they are here, every one leaves the country touched by the breathtaking scenery, humbled by the joyful hospitality and inspired by having seen God at work in what is truly a Christian country. Then check out the following dates for scheduled missions and contact us to join any team. Arrive with one team; depart with another.  Stay two weeks or a year. We will meet you, welcome you and show you a world you have never known.

Mission Trip Schedule for 2010

The following dates have been established for people with specific skills and interests who want to be a part of a team of like-minded mission team members, maximum ten per team.  We welcome individuals who want to come to Uganda to work with Juna Amagara; we only ask that you schedule your travel dates to coincide with the arrival/departures listed below.  We can also accommodate churches and other organizations that may form teams for other purposes and on other dates.

  1. January 28-February 11 - Crafty Ladies from DesMoines - Arlene Fjellman lead a team of women good at sewing, crafts and design, with a couple of husbands, to help teach at ASFADD and the Vocational School in Kishanje.  Six people, each representing a different decade of age.  CLICK HERE TO SEE BLOG OF THEIR TRIP
  2. May 3-14 - Medical Mission at Kishanje was extremely successful, pulling together Ugandan doctors, dentists and nurses with US health professionals.  Not only were people examined for maladies but separate clinics were set up to test children for HIV (all negative) and women for cervical exams.  CLICK HERE TO SEE RENEE LOZOWSKI'S PHOTO GALLERY OF THE EVENT ON SNAPFISH
  3. July 1-15 - Mission Team from Sugar Grove, IL - A team of ten from Village Bible Church in Illinois is planning to come help Matt Kehn with ABIDE, help Crystal Kehn with her new baby and, in Kishanje, to teach and build and visit churches and schools throughout the area.  Team Leader is Pastor Keith Duff.  Email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.   4. July 7-21 - Mission Team from Newport Beach, CA - A team of 14 from St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Newport Beach, CA is planning to bring equipment, supplies, and teachers to assist at Kishanje schools.  Team leader is Trevecca Okholm.  Email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.   5.
